The project was a 1950’s 3 bedroom detached house, which had some alterations over the years however was in serious need of major modernisation. Our client had recently purchased the property and wanted improved accommodation and complete updating.

The key requirements were for a larger kitchen and family area together with more accommodation. This was achieved with a large extension at the rear increasing the floor area by some 30%.The structural condition of some of the internal walls required fairly major reconstruction. This allowed to create additional bathrooms and shower rooms. Part of the structural modifications included relocation of the staircase making better use of the hall space.

In the light of the poor condition of the roof it was decided to re-tile both the original and extension roofs, safeguarding against future problems.

Internally the services, electric, gas and water were completely renewed throughout with underfloor heating added to the ground floor.

With the volume of major works to the property, it was necessary to replace all the ceilings and fully re-plaster.

Internal fit-out included four bathrooms, a large kitchen and utility room together with installation of wardrobes. The final internal touches were provided by hard and soft flooring’s and tasteful decoration.

Externally a replacement garage was constructed, hard landscaping to both the front and rear gardens including large terrace, fencing and walls and front driveway added the final touch to the work.

Customer Testimonial

“In late 2018 I purchased this somewhat unloved detached house in Gerrards Cross with the intention of carrying out fairly major renovation and extension works. Having secured planning consent, It was with some trepidation that we started work in mid 2019. “

“As with most renovations it is a trip of discovery, with quite a few changes as the early work progressed, some minor some more major, however Alan and his team took all these changes in their stride – to every problem a solution was found, always conscious of the budget.”

“The new home rapidly took shape both internally externally with a surprisingly large garden uncovered , the end result was a transformation both inside and out, beyond our expectations and a pleasure to live in.”

“Alan and his team were pleasure to work with, both in coming up with good ideas and keeping me updated throughout the works . I would not hesitate to recommend Alan and his team.”
